Hamburg snare duo on loan

Hamburg have bolstered their ranks with the capture of Brazilian midfielder Elson and Ivory Coast striker Arouna Kone.

The struggling Bundesliga club have landed Elson on loan until the end of the season from Stuttgart.

Hamburg are currently 16th in the table and coach Mirko Slomka was desperate to boost his options on transfer deadline day.

Meanwhile, Kone has joined on a similar basis from Spanish side Sevilla.

Kone has found himself well down the pecking order this season.
