Enke wants number one spot

Hannover goalkeeper Robert Enke believes he deserves to be the Germany number one after playing second-fiddle to Jens Lehmann during Euro 2008.
Enke, 30, claims coach Joachim Low should reward him for his consistent form in the Bundesliga rather than stick with Lehmann, who was criticised for his erratic displays during the tournament.
The former Barcelona and Benfica keeper has won just one cap for Germany after a frustrating international career.
"At the end of the day, consistently good performances should make the difference and that makes me optimistic," said Enke.
"I am confident and do not feel I am just a short-term solution. My best years lie ahead of me."
