Reid welcomes Accies win

Hamilton Academical manager Billy Reid felt that his side had finally got their reward for some strong recent performances as they netted a last-gasp winner in a 1-0 victory over St Mirren.

Flavio Paixao's header moved the Accies six points clear of rock-bottom Falkirk, ahead of a meeting of the two sides next weekend.

Reid said: "I think that's been coming for us. In recent weeks we have battled so hard and never got what we deserved.

"We battered them for the first 25 minutes but the ball just wouldn't go in the net and you think 'here we go again'.

"At half-time I said to the players that they should just keep believing, do the same things and it would come for them, but it took until the 92nd minute to get the winner.

"This is the best squad of players that I've worked with. There are games we haven't won which we should have and it's so frustrating to see that week in, week out, but I told them I'm not going to change anything."
