Hamilton Academical boss Billy Reid was a happy man after his side marked their return to the SPL with a 3-1 victory at home to Dundee United.

Goals from Tony Stevenson, James McArthur and David Graham made sure that the Accies faithful went home in good cheer after a convincing display.

Reid said: "I don't think it could have gone any better than that. I said before the game it was a big, big test against a good Dundee United side.

"We passed that with flying colours. We knew we have got good players, but you are never sure until you step into the arena.

"Some of the young players came of age, as I thought they would. James McArthur was absolutely sensational."
