Neil targets Accies return

Hamilton Academical skipper Alex Neil is hoping to return to action this weekend after nearly six months on the sidelines due to a hip injury.

The 28-year-old has not featured for the Accies since last season, but is hoping to play a part at Falkirk after a midweek reserve team outing against Hibernian.

He told The Advertiser: "So far I've not had any adverse reaction to the injury.

"I feel quite good and hopefully I can train on Friday and see what part I can play on Saturday if the gaffer puts me in. It's great to get back, it's such a relief.

"I've been out so long, but provided I'm okay then some involvement would be nice.

"I've only played 45 minutes, it's not a lot of football in six months, but I'm feeling positive."
