McArthur recovery on track

Hamilton Academical midfielder James McArthur says he is making good progress following an operation to clean up a knee problem.

The 21-year-old is hopeful of being fit and ready to go for pre-season training, having impressed in his first season in the SPL.

He told the club's official website: "It was very successful. I went in and got the cartilage trimmed and I'm running again, so I'm happy.

"I played through the season for 11 or 12 weeks and I'm happy I've had the operation now.

"I'm in most days trying to make sure it's going to be okay for pre-season. I'm doing bike work and starting to run again, so I'm happy about that."
