    Honours even in drop fight

    20 Mar 2010 - 17:10:29

The SPL basement battle between Hamilton Academical and Falkirk at New Douglas Park ended in a tense 2-2 draw, leaving the Bairns three points adrift at the foot of the table.

Scott Arfield gave the visitors the lead midway through the first half, but Accies were in front 13 minutes into the second half thanks to a Mickael Antoine-Curier goal and a Simon Mensing penalty.

However, their lead lasted little more than a minute before Ryan Flynn rescued a point for the basement side.

Celtic secured a 3-0 victory at home to St Johnstone, with the opening goal of the game coming 16 minutes in as Josh Thompson glanced a header beyond Graeme Smith in the visitors' goal.

Robbie Keane wrapped up the points midway through the second half, converting from the penalty spot after Smith had brought down Marc-Antoine Fortune and Georgios Samaras added a late third.

Aberdeen battled back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw at home to Dundee United.

Jon Daly put the Terrors in total charge with two goals in the opening 24 minutes at Pittodrie, but the Dons were level by half-time thanks to efforts from Zander Diamond and Michael Paton.

The lunchtime kick-off at Tynecastle saw Hearts take the Edinburgh derby honours as they beat Hibernian 2-1.

Andrew Driver broke the deadlock after 24 minutes, firing home after Suso Santana's cross came back off keeper Graham Stack's near post.

Gary Glen doubled the Jambos' lead with a header three minutes later, following a Driver corner which was headed on by Eggert Jonsson, with Hibs' lone reply coming 11 minutes from time from Derek Riordan.
