Accies swoop for Deuchar

Hamilton Academical have signed former Gretna striker Kenny Deuchar on a short-term deal running until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has spent the last year in the USA with Real Salt Lake, but now just needs international clearance to complete his move back to the SPL.

Accies boss Billy Reid told the Evening Times: "I am delighted to finally sign him at the third time of asking.

"He will provide us with something we don't have up front.

"We are going well right now and the timing of Kenny's arrival is perfect from that point of view and will, I hope, keep our positive momentum going."

Deuchar scored 76 goals in 117 appearances for Gretna, while he has also played for Falkirk, East Fife, Northampton Town and St Johnstone.
