McAlister dreading return to second tier

Hamilton midfielder Jim McAlister admits he is not looking forward to life in the Irn-Bru First Division after leaving it only last year. The former Morton player, 25, moved up to the Clydesdale Bank Premier League last summer but looks set to make a quick return to the second tier. Billy Reid's side are nine points behind bottom side St Mirren with four games remaining, the first of which is away to the Buddies on Monday where anything less than a win will seal Accies' fate. McAlister, who has another year left on his contract at New Douglas Park, told Press Association Sport that he is dreading the impending drop. "I am not looking forward to the First Division because I have just come from there," he said. "I have enjoyed playing in the SPL, it has been a great experience. "We were looking forward to building on what the club had done the previous season but unfortunately this season hasn't worked out according to plan."
