Dougie Imrie admits he jumped at the chance of a new two-year deal with Hamilton after impressing for Accies in the second half of the season.[LNB] Imrie joined the Lanarkshire club for £25,000 from Inverness in the January transfer window and proved to be an immediate hit by earning himself several man of the match performances in his 16 SPL appearances.[LNB]His contract extension keeps him at New Douglas Park until May 2013 and he says boss Billy Reid played a big part in his decision.[LNB]He said: "The manager was a big influence. I came from Inverness in January and things have gone so well.[LNB]"There are not many deals about at the moment so to get another two years on my contract is fabulous. It's always good to be recognised as doing well.[LNB]"When the manager spoke to me after the season had finished, it didn't take me long to sit down with my agent and get the deal done.[LNB]"I'm just glad everything is tied up and I can concentrate on playing for Hamilton next season."[LNB]Reid added: "The start he has had has been sensational. He has had so many man of the match performances and they have been thoroughly deserved.[LNB]"His influence on the team at the end of the season was quite remarkable.[LNB]"We already had a decent team and good players but he has brought something up front, he has scored goals and he has been involved in almost everything we did in terms of making goals.[LNB]"I've always admired him as a player, the influence he has had has been fantastic and he has been rewarded with a new two-year contract, which keeps him at the club for three years."
