Carlton Morris keen for Accies to keep on winning

Hamilton striker Carlton Morris will not become obsessed with going on a goalscoring run following his winner against Kilmarnock.

Morris scrambled home the only goal at Rugby Park two weeks ago to take his tally for the season to four.

Accies manager Martin Canning has since signed French striker Oumar Diaby and wants more goals from his forwards, but Morris will focus on helping the team rather than going on a goal spree.

"That would always be nice but it's not the thing at the front of my head," the on-loan Norwich striker said ahead of the visit of Ladbrokes Premiership bottom club Dundee United.

"The most important thing is to win a massive game on Saturday and then pick up as many points as we can before the split."

The 20-year-old extended his loan spell at the turn of the year and believes he will have more to give Accies as the season progresses.

Morris, who spent time with Oxford and York last season, said: "To be fair it took a bit of time to adapt. It was very different for me being up in Scotland.

"But it's been an excellent experience so far and I have learned a lot.

"I'm just pleased to have an extra 20-25 games at first-team level at such a young age and I'm grateful. I feel a better player for it.

"There's no comparison between this and Under-21 games because there is a real need and urgency to get points at first-team level, which you get a taste for."

Hamilton have Jesus Garcia Tena and Darian MacKinnon suspended for their clash against the Tangerines, while French striker Oumar Diaby goes straight into contention following his arrival from Levski Sofia.

Ryan Dow hopes both he and Dundee United have turned the corner after a "nightmare" year.

Last season ended for Dow after United's four-match showdown with Celtic in March and he only made four starts in the rest of 2015 as he battled a pelvic problem.

But the midfielder believes he is over the worst of the condition and his return to the starting line-up for the games against Kilmarnock and Partick Thistle, along with the fit-again Paul Paton, coincided with United's first back-to-back wins for a year.

Dow has no problems about facing Hamilton on their artificial surface at New Douglas Park on Saturday as the Ladbrokes Premiership side seek a hat-trick of victories, which would cut their 11-point deficit.

The 24-year-old said: "It's been really frustrating. The last 12 months have been an absolute nightmare.

"I tried to come back earlier on in the season and broke down again so hopefully this time I can stay fit and help the team avoid relegation."

Former Inverness striker Edward Ofere goes into the Dundee United squad after signing last weekend.

United are still being troubled by a flu bug and manager Mixu Paatelainen says one or two players who have started recent games might miss out.

Striker Riku Riski has also been affected by the illness and it is "touch and go" whether he makes it after a groin problem cleared up. Defender Callum Morris (knee) is definitely out.
