Accies advance to play-off final

Hamilton will face Hibernian for a place in the Scottish Premiership after Accies overcame Falkirk 2-1 on aggregate in the play-off semi-finals.

With the tie delicately poised at 1-1 after the first leg, Tony Andreu scored early on and Alex Neil's men hung on to their slender lead to seal a showdown with Hibs.

Hamilton goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert saved well from Mark Millar after four minutes but 10 minutes later Andreu struck. Jason Scotland got past David McCracken before cutting the ball back for the Frenchman to tap home from close range.

Cuthbert was called into action again just before the half hour to keep out Mark Beck's diving header.

At the other end, Michael McGovern almost gifted Andreu a second goal as half-time approached but the Falkirk keeper gathered the ball at the second attempt.

The Bairns pushed for an equaliser with Rory Loy having a shot cleared off the line and Will Vaulks and Conor McGrandles both thwarted by Cuthbert before the hour mark.

But Hamilton responded and had chances to make it 2-0 on the day. However, McGovern saved from Antoine-Curier and Andy Ryan squandered a gilt-edged opportunity before he too was then denied by McGovern late on.
