Accies down Doonhamers

Hamilton kept up the pressure on league leaders Dundee with a 3-1 win at home to Queen of the South.

The Accies took the lead after three minutes when Louis Longridge latched onto a loose ball down the right and fired a left-footed strike past Alex Clark in the Queen of the South net.

The home side doubled their lead after eight minutes through Mickael Antoine-Curier. The Guadeloupe international bundled the ball home from six yards out after a scramble in the box following Alister Crawford's corner.

Iain Russell pulled one back for the Doonhamers after 21 minutes, smashing home into the top right-hand corner from a tight angle.

Alister Crawford added a third for the home side after 57 minutes, reacting first to slot home from close range as Clark failed to safely parry away James Keatings' shot from the edge of the box.
