Imrie edges Hamilton through
Doug Imrie's early goal set Hamilton on their way to a narrow 2-1 win over Arbroath in the Co-operative Insurance Cup.
Hamilton came into this game on the back of an impressive pre-season and they made the perfect start after just three minutes when the 30-year-old striker collected a pass from Daniel Redmond and found the top left-hand corner.
It was two in the 69th minute when Louis Longridge's left-footed finish found a way past Arbroath goalkeeper David Crawford after he was teed-up by Ziggy Gordon.
Arbroath suffered relegation last season and their fans had little to cheer until the dying seconds when Kevin Buchan headed home a consolation.
