Bobby raises the Barr

A superb strike 20 minutes from time by Bobby Barr was enough to give Livingston a 1-0 win at Hamilton and keep the Lions ahead of their opponents in the table.

Barr offered a warning for the hosts when he fired over from the edge of the area shortly before the half hour.

Livingston looked the most likely in the first half and Hamilton goalkeeper Alan Coombe did well to parry Liam Fox's 20-yard effort.

Clear chances remained at a premium in the second period and it required something special from Barr to break the deadlock.

The 23-year-old winger collected Mark Fotheringham's pass before arrowing a superb shot into the top corner from 25 yards.

Gordon Smith might have levelled for Hamilton five minutes from time but headed over from close range after connecting with Douglas Imrie's cross.
