Former Argentina international Juan Pablo Sorin is looking for a new club after having the final year of his Hamburg contract paid up.
The 32-year-old spent the last two seasons with Hamburg following his transfer from Villarreal, but endured an unhappy injury-ravaged time with the German side.
"I am going to prepare myself to play again and have fun on the pitch," Sorin told Hamburg's official website.
"I came to HSV because they are a great club, with whom I wanted to win a title. Now the situation is different, a different stage in my life is about to start.
"Fortunately, I have several offers, but I did not want to speak to anyone before my situation here was resolved out of respect for HSV and the other clubs."
