Hamburg have been fined 35,000 euros after Werder Bremen's Frank Baumann was struck by a missile thrown from the crowd during last month's derby meeting at the HSH Nordbank Arena. The Bremen skipper was struck by a mobile phone battery after his side celebrated their equaliser in front of the hone fans during their 2-1 defeat on November 23. The German FA (DFB) opened an immediate investigation but have opted not to hit Hamburg with a stadium ban. "In the case of a further serious occurrence, the DFB sporting court has threatened Hamburg with a stadium ban or with having to play a match behind closed doors," read a statement on behalf of the association.
