Berg on verge of PSV switch

Hamburg striker Marcus Berg is on the verge of a season-long loan switch to PSV Eindhoven after he slipped out of manager Armin Veh's first-team plans.

The Swedish forward made a £9million move from Groningen after impressing in the Dutch league, but a return of just four goals in 30 Bundesliga outings has forced Veh into action.

Despite being set to leave the club, Veh wants him to return to the Imtech Arena revitalised next term.

Speaking to Sport1 Television, he said: "We have good quality up front. It will be just reasonable to see him come back to our club after picking up plenty of first-team experience elsewhere."
