Goal hero Adam Quinn has pleaded with Halifax Town manager Chris Wilder to give him the chance to become a first-team regular with the Shaymen.
The 21-year-old central defender scored the late winner for the ten-man Nationwide Conference side as York City were beaten 2-1 in Tuesday's LDV Vans Trophy first round clash.
"The manager told me on Monday that I would be playing so I had been looking forward to it for 24 hours," Quinn told the Halifax Courier.
"It was good to get a game and I just wanted to prove I am good enough to stay in the side.
"We had dominated the game and looked favourites throughout so it was a setback to lose a man.
"But we still thought we had a chance to nick a winner and get through to the next round."
