Halifax Town captain Steve Bushell has warned the club that they need to become more professional if they want to see improved results on the pitch.
The Shaymen had to settle for a 19th place finish in the Nationwide Conference, but Bushell believes that given the facilities available, manager Chris Wilder and his assistant Sean McAuley have worked wonders.
"It has been a massive disappointment. We have finished fourth bottom in a league which, apart from the top three or four, has no-one to fear," he told The Halifax Courier.
"But the gaffer has worked all season with his hands tied behind his back.
"The training facilities have not been up to standard for a Sunday league side, never mind a team that is trying to get back into the Football League.
"The way Chris and Sean have handled it has been brilliant and hopefully we can bat on for next season.
"The sessions have been superb considering the restrictions. But it has been hard to put in the quality work that should produce results on the pitch."
