Trotter open to Town stay

On-loan midfielder Liam Trotter would welcome the opportunity to extend his stay with Grimsby Town.

Trotter, 20, is due to return to parent club Ipswich Town after Saturday's trip to Exeter City, but is enjoying his run in the first-team at the League Two club.

"I'm happy to be playing football, to be honest," he told the Grimsby Telegraph.

"If Ipswich want me back and say they are going to play me then, obviously, I'd like to go back.

"But if I'm just going to be returning to play in the reserves then I'll more than happily stay here."
