Town dismiss Jones exit talk

Grimsby Town insist reports suggesting Rob Jones is set to sign for Hibernian in the summer are wrong.

The 26-year-old central defender has enjoyed a fine season with the promotion-chasing Mariners and the League Two side are determined to keep one of their prize assets.

A brief statement on the club's official website read: "Rob Jones' contract does expire at the end of June, but the club have an option on that contract, meaning that Town can re-sign Jones for next season as well."

Jones has made 58 League appearances for the club since his free transfer switch from Stockport County almost two years ago.
