Penalty miss costs Mariners
30 Jan 2010 - 17:33:33
Grimsby Town missed a late penalty to pass up the chance to seal their first League Two win in 19 attempts against Aldershot.
The Mariners started brightly, taking the lead thanks to a John Grant own goal in the third minute.
They couldn't hang on to the lead, however, as half-time substitute Danny Hylton scored midway through the second half for the Shots.
Steven Fletcher and Anton Robinson scored the goals to give Bournemouth a win at Gresty Road against Crewe.
Despite scoring through Luke Murphy with over 20 minutes left, the Railwaymen could not force and equaliser.
Andy Holt rescued a point for Northampton in the 88th minute at Sixfields.
Burton Albion had taken the lead through Shaun Harrad in the 53rd minute but could not hang on to all three points.
Hereford continued their poor away record with a 2-0 defeat to Port Vale.
Craig Davies and Marc Richards scored the goals as both sides ended the game with 10 men following red cards for Lewis Haldane and Hereford's Ryan Valentine.
Half-time substitute Gareth Evans became the hero for Bradford City at Torquay United.
Evans scored a goal in both the 82nd and 93rd minutes to grab a victory from the jaws of defeat against the Gulls, who opened the scoring through Chris Robertson.
Notts County strolled to a 2-0 win at home against Barnet, with Kyle Hawley and Ben Davies grabbing the goals.
Elsewhere, both Chesterfield and Accrington Stanley managed 1-0 away wins at Morecambe and Shrewsbury respectively.
