Newell persuades duo to stay

Grimsby Town manager Mike Newell has persuaded Joe Widdowson and Dean Sinclair to extend their loan stays with the club.

West Ham United defender Widdowson will stay with the Mariners until the end of the season while Charlton midfielder Sinclair has agreed a one-month extension to his current agreement.

Both players have scored once in three starts for Town.

Newell is also hoping Doncaster Rovers will allow Stuart Elliot to remain at Blundell Park.
