Grimsby Town have appointed former Luton Town boss Mike Newell as their new manager.
Newell has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal to take charge at Blundell Park, with the Mariners having recently parted company with Alan Buckley following a dismal start to the new season.
Town chairman John Fenty told the club's official website: "Late on Sunday evening the Grimsby Town directors assembled at a hotel near Ferrybridge to conclude the final interviews with the two short-listed candidates.
"Just after midnight, a new manager was appointed. The directors are delighted with this appointment of this forward-thinking manager.
"It is now hoped that the fans and everybody associated with the club all get behind him."
Newell was in charge of Luton from the summer of 2003 until March of 2007, before being sacked for questioning the actions of the club's board of directors.
