Midfield duo leave Mariners

Midfield duo Paul Bolland and James Hunt have been told they are free to leave Grimsby Town when their contracts expires.

Bolland did not make a single first-team appearance for the Mariners this season after injuring his knee on the eve of the campaign.

Hunt started 21 League Two games, but neither player will be offered another deal by manager Mike Newell.

Speaking about Bolland, he told the club's official website: "There's nothing we can guarantee him to be honest.

"I would have liked to have had a look at him pre-season and see how he comes back.

"But I got the impression that he'd been offered a little bit of security somewhere else, so we wish him well."
