Former Middlesbrough defender Robbie Stockdale has penned a two-year deal with Grimsby Town after deciding to leave Tranmere Rovers.
The 28-year old, who made 88 first-team appearances in his two seasons with Tranmere, decided to move to Blundell Park after being impressed by Mariners boss Alan Buckley.
He told the Grimsby Evening Telegraph: "I'm very happy to be here and I'm looking forward to the season.
"I came up last week and spoke to the manager. We had a good, long discussion and his ambition to get promoted is something that matched mine.
"I could have waited to see what other offers were out there, because I had a few.
"But once I spoke to the manager and the chairman and people around the club, my mind was made up."
