Grimsby Town chairman John Fenty remains confident about the club's future, even after the Mariners posted an annual trading loss of over £250,000 for the year ending May 2007.
To add to the League Two club's financial woes they also paid more than £500,000 in planning costs for their proposed new stadium.
However, Fenty is upbeat about the future, telling the Evening Telegraph: "In terms of football perspective, the club believes its actions contributed to a change in fortunes for the team, protecting jobs, incomes and the club's existence.
"Stadium relocation costs have been substantially more than was budgeted for due to protracted difficulties encountered with the planning process.
"Despite the results, achieving outline planning consent for the new stadium allows the directors to remain positive about the club's future."
