Grimsby Town have landed transfer-listed Walsall striker Martin Butler on a three-month loan basis.
The 33-year-old frontman has joined the Mariners with a view to a permanent transfer when the window reopens in January.
Butler, whose present contract expires at the end of the season, had rejected a move to Peterborough United before the transfer window closed in August and was told by Walsall that he was surplus to requirements last month.
The former Reading, Cambridge United and Rotherham United hitman has scored 13 times in 53 appearances for the Saddlers.
