Mariners could keep loan duo
26 Jan 2009 - 14:20:20
Two of Grimsby Town's loan signings have expressed an interest in extending their spells at Blundell Park beyond a month.
Joe Widdowson, on-loan from West Ham, told the Grimsby Telegraph that he would jump at the chance of prolonging his loan spell with Mike Newell's team.
The 19-year-old said: "I'd definitely love to stay.
"I've enjoyed it at Grimsby. So far, it's been really good. I just want to play more games and help the team get some more points on the board."
Meanwhile, Charlton Athletic's Dean Sinclair has also claimed that he would be prepared to stay with the club if Addicks manager Phil Parkinson agrees.
"I'll have to speak to my gaffer first and see what happens there but, if all goes well, then I don't see any reason why not. We'll see what happens," said the 24-year-old midfielder.
Both players scored in Grimsby's 3-0 win over Rotherham, giving Newell's side a much-needed three points in their continuing fight to climb up the table and away from a relegation dog-fight.
