Grimsby Town have completed the signing of former Tranmere Rovers forward Gary Jones on a two-year contract.
The 30-year-old is happy with the switch to Blundell Park, but admits he has some catching up to do in training.
He told the club's official website: "I am joining Grimsby a bit late, but I've tried to keep my fitness up on my own this summer.
"I am going to work hard here and hopefully get into the side and score a few goals. It might take me a week or two to get my sharpness back.
"I have spoken to the manager and he wants promotion, I want to help with that."
Jones has scored 47 goals in 306 league appearances to date, having had a spell with Nottingham Forest in between two stints with Tranmere.
