Veteran striker Gary Jones has signed a new one-year contract with Grimsby Town.

The 32-year-old has been with the Mariners since the summer of 2005, scoring 25 goals in 89 appearances for Town to date.

Jones joined Grimsby from Tranmere Rovers, having also featured for Nottingham Forest during this career.

Manager Alan Buckley told the club's official website: "We are delighted that he has decided to sign for us for another year.

"He's done really well since I've been here, he sets a great example to the young lads at the club."
