Grimsby Town winger Nick Hegarty has signed a new three-year contract with the League Two club.
The 21-year-old was loaned out to York City early on this season, but returned to Blundell Park to become a regaular starter in Alan Buckley's side.
Now Hegarty has penned a deal running until the summer of 2011 with the Mariners and is pleased to have earned reward for some promising performances.
He told the Evening Telegraph: "I'm really pleased to get the deal done and dusted and get my future sorted out.
"It's something we've been talking about for a bit and I'm chuffed to sign. I'm happy here and have been for a while.
"Of course there have been ups and downs in my battle to get into the team, but I think I've taken my chance and it's nice that has been rewarded with a new deal."
