Grimsby Town goalkeeper Phil Barnes took the plaudits from boss Alan Buckley after the Mariners drew 1-1 at Bury.
Barnes made several fine saves to secure a share of the spoils at Gigg Lane, leaving Buckley to thank his player for his efforts.
He said: "Phil made some magnificent saves to keep us in the match.
"I said to him at half-time I might need to call on you and he was excellent. In fact, the second half was the best he's played since he came to the club.
"I was pleased with our performance in the first half, but in the end Bury won the majority of the battles in the second half and 1-1 was probably the right result."
