Grimsby Town boss Alan Buckley was less than impressed by his side's display in the 3-1 defeat at in-form Rochdale.
The Mariners were up against it at Spotland for long periods, with their task further hindered by the sending-off of Nathan Jarman eight minutes before half-time.
Buckley told the Evening Telegraph: "Overall, I am disappointed. They totally dominated us in the middle of the park.
"We had gone down to ten men but had weathered the storm.
"You sit down at half-time and talk about things, but then through sloppy play we conceded the first goal.
"It is not good enough, but you can't actually climb inside players' brains and make sure they are right, you have to trust them to deal with it."
