Bore back with a bang
09 Feb 2007 - 08:08:54
Grimsby Town youngster Peter Bore thanked the club's coaches after marking his first start in well over a month with a hat-trick in the devastating 6-0 victory at Boston United.
Bore has struggled to live up to the potential suggested by a double against the Pilgrims on the opening day of the season, but he accepts that a spell in the reserves was beneficial.
He told the Grimsby Telegraph: "I think it's fair to say I have been doing a lot better in training recently.
"I have been working on tracking back for the last few weeks with coaches Stuart Watkiss and Neil Woods and I think that showed.
"Playing in the reserves has also been a big help, both in terms of improving my game and getting match fitness.
"It gives me extra experience as well and allows me to put into practice what the coaches have been teaching me. I have a lot to thank them for."
