Atkinson pens Mariners deal

Grimsby Town have signed former on-loan defender Rob Atkinson on a permanent basis.
Atkinson has been on loan at Blundell Park from Championship side Barnsley since October and has now joined the Mariners on a free transfer.
"It has taken a couple of weeks to come to an agreement and make the final decision, but it is something I am happy with," he told the club's official website.
"It's a two-and-a-half year contract which gives me that little bit of security and plenty of time to improve under the guidance of Mike Newell."
