Woods has been in temporary charge since Newell left over a month ago and has impressed enough to be given the post permanently.[LNB]Interviews were held last week for the manager's job, which has been vacant since the sacking of Newell on October 18.[LNB]Woods was one of the six men interviewed and he has now been charged with saving the Blundell Park club from relegation to the Blue Square Premier.[LNB]Grimsby have lost one and drawn three of their four League Two matches under Woods' stewardship, including the 0-0 draw at relegation-rivals Lincoln on Saturday.[LNB]The point still leaves the Mariners in the relegation zone but just two points from safety.[LNB][LNB]
