Sweeney hails Mariners team bond

The Mariners dominated the opening 45 minutes after taking an early lead through Jean Louis Akpa Akpro against Leeds, who Sweeney left for Blundell Park earlier this month, before Luciano Becchio levelled in the second period. Sweeney told the Grimsby Telegraph: "That's the thing, there's a brilliant team spirit here and everyone gets on. There are no cliques - it is just brilliant. "Having a good team spirit is the key. That is what the manager always gets across. If everyone is fighting on the pitch together it helps a lot." Sweeney added: "It was a really good game to see where we are at the moment and I thought we were brilliant in the first half especially. "We are looking really strong at the moment, with two more pre-season games to come and we're all training hard as well, so it's looking good for us."
