Sweeney eyes back-to-back wins

After four straight defeats in league and cup, Town finally got their campaign up and running with a 1-0 win at Gigg Lane last weekend. The Shots visit Blundell Park on Saturday and the summer signing from Leeds is targeting back-to-back victories now that the Mariners are off the mark in League Two. "We've got a first win now and we have to go and build on that and show the home fans we are good enough to have a much better season," Sweeney told the Grimsby Telegraph. "Hopefully now things will change and we can start getting a bit of luck. "We played a lot better in the second half against Rotherham and that was something to take into the match at Bury. "It has been a tough start for us. We deserved more than we got at Cheltenham and then against Rotherham so we are still optimistic of what we can do in this league if we string results together."
