North targets Mariners starting spot

North grabbed the only goal of the game which gave the Mariners second string a 1-0 victory against Newcastle at Blundell Park.[LNB]The 22-year-old latched on to Barry Conlon's pass in the 32nd minute to slot the ball past keeper Jak Alnwick in a game which also featured impressive solo displays from Nathan Jarman and Adrian Forbes.[LNB]He told the Grimsby Telegraph: "With the number of strikers here you just have to get goals, and that means performing for the reserves and doing it in training to show what you can do.[LNB]"I think my performance showed what I can do, so hopefully I can put in a good couple of sessions in training and be in the frame for Saturday."[LNB][LNB]
