Newey makes loan switch to Dale
Newey, 26, was recently told by Mariners boss Mike Newell he was free to leave the club and Dale have swooped to secure his services.
He joins former Grimsby players Simon Ramsden and Ciaran Toner at the League Two promotion chasers.
