Newell: Keeper decision crucial

Newell is on the lookout for a keeper following the departures of Phil Barnes and Gary Montgomery. Norwich's Wayne Henderson impressed during a temporary stint at Blundell Park towards the end of last season and that could sway Newell's thinking as he looks to fill the void between the sticks. "Maybe there is the option of a long loan deal. We have spoken about a lot of goalkeepers but we haven't spoken specifically about anyone yet," Newell told the club's official website. "It is a position that is very important to us and we need to get it right, so we are not going to rush our decision. "We saw how important it was last season when we got Wayne in. He came at just the right time and helped lift everyone and it worked well."
