An Olly Lancashire own goal put Leeds ahead in the 40th minute and Neil Kilkenny doubled the advantage before the break. Jermaine Beckford made it three on the hour mark as Simon Grayson's men threatened to run riot.[LNB]But a minute later Grimsby hit back when former Leeds midfielder Peter Sweeney rifled in a fine volley to give Town a well-earned consolation.[LNB]Caretaker manager Neil Woods said: "We are hoping to bring some more players in before Saturday.[LNB]"We need more of a threat from the wide players and we need a better goal threat. We have to keep building but performances like this will hopefully give us the right foundation.[LNB]"It was a much improved performance in all aspects. We showed a bit of passion but their second goal was a real setback for us. We should have done better in defending their third goal but Peter Sweeney's strike for us was stunning."[LNB][LNB]
