Mariners wait on duo

Grimsby boss Paul Hurst is sweating on the availability of Carl Magnay and Craig Disley for the FA Cup tie against Oxford.

Magnay limped off with a knee injury while Disley suffered a dead leg in the clash with Braintree on Tuesday.

Midfielder Harry Pell is unable to play due to the terms of his loan deal from AFC Wimbledon.

Scott Brown remains on the sidelines with an ankle problem while Scott Neilson is pushing for a recall after sitting on the bench in recent games.

Oxford have been handed a pre-match boost with the news that Charlton loanee Tareiq Holmes-Dennis will be available to start.

The 19-year-old has become a crucial player in his four games since arriving at the Kassam and the U's have agreed with the Addicks that he can play. Fellow loanees Joe Riley and Tyrone Barnett have also been given the green light by their parent clubs.

Michael Appleton will, however, be forced into at least one change as Sheffield United will not allow goalkeeper George Long to feature so New Zealand youngster Max Crocombe is set to earn a start.

Appleton will also be light on forwards with in-form Danny Hylton suspended and Alex Jakubiak having returned to parent club Watford.
