John-Lewis banned for Mariners

Grimsby striker Lenell John-Lewis will miss the FA Cup tie against Huddersfield through suspension.

John-Lewis was sent off for a second bookable offence in Grimsby's Skrill Premier draw with rivals Lincoln on New Year's Day and serves a one-match ban.

Mariners manager Paul Hurst is again set to be without defender Clayton McDonald, who is struggling with an arm injury.

Midfielder Scott Kerr could return from the knee problem which has kept him out of the previous two matches, while right-back Sam Hatton is expected to be back after a bout of illness.

Huddersfield look set to be without leading goalscorer James Vaughan once again.

The 12-goal striker has missed the last three games due to a knee injury and is expected to spend at least another week on the sidelines.

Defender Joel Lynch was struggling in the New Year's Day defeat at Burnley and was replaced in the first half by Anthony Gerrard, who could return to the starting line-up.

Danny Ward is expected to continue up front alongside Martin Paterson, who struck twice against former club Burnley to take his tally for the season to seven.
