The 21-year-old, who had been at Blundell Park since November 20, extended his stay at the League Two club by a further month a fortnight ago but requested the loan be cut short after he was not involved in the games against Rotherham and Aldershot.[LNB]"Nicky asked to go back and Hull have taken him," said Mariners manager Neil Woods. "It's disappointing for us but I can understand he wants to play and hadn't figured in the last two games.[LNB]"He's Hull's player and they are entitled to have him back but I would have liked him to stay because he would have got used.[LNB]"There are no problems with the player or between the two clubs, though, he just didn't feel he was going to play as much as he'd hoped."[LNB]Featherstone made eight league appearances during his time with the club.[LNB][LNB]
