Bolland eager for Mariners stay

Bolland has been out of action since suffering a serious cruciate ligament injury during pre-season and his current contract is due to expire in the summer. Mike Newell has reportedly already promised to let Bolland prove his worth and the midfielder told the Grimsby Telegraph: "I'm feeling fitter and stronger all the time but I won't play this season - I accept that now - and that's definite. "I went to see the surgeon again this week and he was happy with my progress but advised against any contact in training. I'm realistically looking at July now and pre-season and then I should be raring to go. I want to stay here, of course. It's been so frustrating to miss an entire season of football. "I'll speak to the gaffer before the end of the season because I'm desperate to play here again next season when I'm hopefully back to my best."
