Bennett keen to stay at Grimsby

The youngster has flourished under boss Mike Newell and has assumed the captain's armband at Blundell Park.[LNB]The England Under-18 international is tied to the club until 2011 after a two-year option was triggered by the defender's 50th league start earlier this season.[LNB]But Newell is keen to further reward Bennett for his performances, as well as warding off a number of big clubs.[LNB]Bennett told the Grimsby Telegraph: "It's nice to be offered a new deal and, hopefully, we can sort something out in the near future.[LNB]He added: "To me, money isn't an issue at the minute. I just want to carry on progressing and make my name at Grimsby. Then, hopefully, in the future I can go on to bigger and better things once I've done that."[LNB][LNB]
