Barrett handed trial at Mariners
Mariners manager Mike Newell is keen to bolster his strikeforce ahead of the forthcoming League Two campaign and the 27-year-old becomes the third frontman to link up with the squad this month, following Swansea youngster Chris Jones and Irishman Andy Smith.
Barrett, a former Arsenal trainee, will train with Grimsby until the club head off on their pre-season tour to Devon on Monday.
Barrett scored 11 goals in 55 appearances for Falkirk and has been capped seven times by the Republic of Ireland.
